Activities
The Secure Commerce Protocols™, the standards developed by the IOSC, represent best practices for commerce security. The standards include such areas as secure international trade, regulatory compliance, business continuity, secure process integration, and Lean SecurityT. The Secure Commerce Protocols meet or exceed the requirements of C-TPAT, BASC and the World Customs Organization, and are the basis for the education and certification programs.
The education program is designed to provide the information and training necessary to implement and manage secure business processes in an organization. Training is divided into 11 bodies of knowledge which, combined, form the Secure Commerce Protocols. Training is available through educational institutions such as UTEP, or via seminars or workshops delivered to an organization or group.
The certification program offers two kinds of certifications: Individual certification of professionals and facilities certification. The certification of individuals is based on training attendance, professional experience and continuing education. The facilities certification results from successful completion of an audit against the Secure Commerce Protocols.
